Review on Mountain Woods Thick Striped Congo Wood Cutting Board for Kitchen Chopping and Butcher Block - 18 by Tina Campanita

Beautiful, big, strong, heavy and thick. There are finger grooves on the sides so you can lift them easily. This is exactly the type of chopping board/cutting board I was looking for. BUT. My board does NOT look as nice and stain free as in the photo. The wood in the mine is definitely inferior. Burn marks, knots and stains are visible throughout the board, giving the impression that the scraps have been gathered together. I think that's why it's only $39.95. (So 3 stars instead of 5). For a plank of wood of this size, weight, and thickness, it would definitely cost at least $70 or more if quality wood was used. But I love the board and I'm glad I bought it. So far I have used the board every day for the last 2 weeks and everything has been fine. I will edit my review in 6 months to report how it has held up. **6 month follow-up rating: Well, my cutting board has held up well (with average use and care). Stains, knots and burn marks are still visually disturbing, but I have to deal with them until I find a new board. But for $39.95, I think it was worth the money.
