Review on 63 1700 Performance Intake Kit by Joshua Castillo

Some parts could be a better fit

This installation took about an hour and was fairly easy. Some of the devices were confusing. Why was there a combination of socket and hex head screws when everything could be the same? Some vacuum fittings were difficult to assemble due to odd angles. One of the clamps on the new crankcase ventilation hose was too small and needed to be replaced. Finally, the new rigid fresh air intake hose does not go well with the original factory fresh air fitting. It's too short, hits at an odd angle, and doesn't follow the shape of the original's lugs, providing a secure locking contact. I had to use zip ties to keep it from falling apart. A little more attention to technical details would have been desirable. Does not meet the usual K&N standard. I definitely noticed a difference in driving technique, especially in sport mode. Constant 18psi thrust on redline when choking earlier and hovering around 15-16psi. Definitely a nice improvement on an already fun car.

Pros
  • ENHANCED ENGINE SOUND: Hear the power under the hood.
Cons
  • Expensive
