There is a learning curve for applications to resizing and removal. That being said, the difference between walking my medium sized dog at night and during the day was post use. My trainer recommended a spiked collar and it has made her happy. It doesn't hurt, I used it on my neck, it's just pressure. If you are afraid to use it, ask a dog trainer for help. We watched a few YouTube tutorials to figure out how to remove the links, put the collar on, and take it off after a workout. The key for us was to use the connection closest to the O&D, pinch the prong near the bend and pull up on removal. It really gets easier with time. But you will feel that the first attempts are weak. Overall this is great value for money and recommended by my trainer.
