This is an updated review. As can be seen below, when I received them I thought the material looked "strong enough". However, this was maybe my second or third use of a measuring cup, and when I went to wash it, I noticed the side was cracked and bulged (almost like a little indentation for pouring). So it goes in the trash. Disappointing. I never had this problem with any other measuring cup. I have other metal measuring cups but the dimensions are hard to read so I bought these. Luckily I still have the old one. The material seems strong enough. The two main reasons I order were the shape of the scoops and the color coding. Now that I have them I will use (some of them). But I won't be ordering them as a Christmas present for my sons as planned. The reasons are as follows: 1. Although the size is engraved on each pen, it is smaller and harder to see than I was hoping for.2. The marking does not match. 1/2 tablespoon is written as 1/2 tbsp. Usually (and on other tablespoons in the set) the T for tablespoons is capitalized, so I found it confusing.3. The biggest problem is actually the color coding that attracted me in the first place. This is achieved by a silicone insert that significantly increases the thickness of the handle. This makes nesting impossible and even attempts to tamper with the ring are very difficult. Luckily, the silicone insert is easy to remove, which is what I did with the measuring spoons. When taken out they have a nice big oval so they fit in the ring and are easy to manipulate to get what I want. I took measurements from the ring and pulled out the sizes I use the most. Maybe one day I'll find a use for all the other sizes, but for now I feel like the extra sizes add more to the cost than help me cook. Bottom line: I'll use these, but they don't offer ease. the use I was hoping for, so I don't recommend it.
