Cracks in the lid - beware

Good, right on the doorstep I like this product a lot. I have to say, being able to view and control the air pressure in both my truck and my 5th wheel (on the road) is a really nice feature (especially in a trailer). However, I've had it for about 2 years (I have 8 in total) and 2 of them have failed. One due to a blown trailer tire and I think the rubber from the tire ripped it off or the pressure ripped it off the tire (I couldn't find that even though the valve stem was still on the rim) but the second one I lost , is a manufacturer error. The cover that holds the battery up is made of plastic. In the last 2 years the plastic cover has broken/cracked allowing dirt, grime and water to get into the electronic components. Of course he is no longer visible on the monitor. I've tried cleaning it and putting new batteries in it, and even tried relearning it after all that, but to no avail. So at $75 for each valve stem, that's very expensive. I can't afford to replace her even though I really like her. The lid might have been too tight, but I always knew that when I removed them or changed the batteries. Maybe the dealer overtightened them (checking tire pressure) and snapped, but that's proven. So I feel like 3 stars but honestly I like them so the overall rating is 4 stars.
