Update: other reviews say that the ring doesn't charge fully and the battery needs charging at some point, right. We have been using this solar charger for a few weeks now. Initially, he charged it 100% every day, but now, after rainy and cloudy weather, it does not fully charge the battery. On sunny days, it will be charged by 10%. The battery sat down a bit more over time as it was charged. Today the battery is at 67% and it's raining so it's not charging. This solar charger is still a huge improvement over just changing the batteries every 2 weeks like I had to do before this solar charger. I forgot to change the battery and then the ring didn't work for several days. The solar charger is still in a sunny location. I'll try to change the angle a little since the angle of the sun changes with the seasons. I'm still glad I bought this because without it I would have had to change the batteries at least 1-2 times. . It is in a bright, sunny spot with plenty of sunlight. After exposure to the sun, the battery is no longer discharged on the solar charger, but is recharged by the sun the next day. I'm not sure how this will work in the long run, but I'm happy with it so far. It wasn't difficult to set up, but it worked best when two people did it. Before the solar charger, I had to change the battery every few weeks. When we first received the ring, it took months to recharge. Slowly it needs to be charged more often. We live near the road and get a lot of false traffic alerts. Ring also updated Motion Zones to avoid false alarms. Anyway, this solar charger keeps the battery charged and I'm not worried about changing the battery just yet. Because this isn't a Ring product, the Ring Video Doorbell 2 doesn't show up as solar powered, but that doesn't mean it doesn't work. I've been monitoring the battery life since we installed this solar charger and noticed that the device status isn't updated regularly. This gives the impression that the battery is not charged, but going live multiple times triggers a device health check and battery update. The ring seems to refresh his health maybe once a day. I've read reviews that say the battery won't charge, but I haven't encountered this problem. Many don't have enough sunshine or just check the battery status every now and then and don't notice the charge. Maybe they got a defective product? Mine works great! So far I recommend this product. If anything changes, I will update the post.
