Excellent image quality, excellent physical performance

I got this camera to upgrade a 10 year old camera. I love the camera and would definitely recommend it to anyone considering it. I ran a full review from unboxing to use, which I'll detail below. Upon unpacking, I found that the packaging is thin. There was enough space in the package for the camera, cables and a few other things. At first I thought there had to be more, but after thinking about it, a camera box doesn't have to have additional packaging to be a good camera. So, I think the camera box was good. There was a small cot with instructions on how to add a privacy cover. I felt the instructions could have been better. It was a small minus. The camera is quite intuitive, so there were no problems. Next I examined the camera. It seemed to me that the fronts of the camera are too plastic. My previous camera was a Logitech, and while all cameras have a plastic body, the Amcrest felt like cheaper plastic. However, it didn't affect the camera in any way, so it doesn't bother me. Then I attached the protective cover. It was a peelable sticker to attach the cover to the camera. This could use a slight improvement. The first time I tried to remove the adhesive cap, my fingernail got under the rubber material that the adhesive was on and I nearly ripped the rubber material off. But realizing my mistake quickly, I stopped to avoid doing any harm. After that, attaching the protective case was easy and I like how it works. The privacy cover is removable for use or closes with a small latch. I really liked this feature - nice and simple. I'm assuming it doesn't come pre-assembled in case you don't need it. I then attached it to the top of my monitor. I use a 22 inch widescreen LCD monitor for my desktop. The camera has a nice mounting stand that folds down and has a ridge on one side under the lens to "grab" the front of the monitor and then the back flips up (triangular) and the magnet attaches to the back . Monitor. This is a very handy feature that's easy to replace or remove and doesn't require tape or glue to attach. This is one of the best physical attributes of the camera. Installation was easy - plug in the USB cable and get the drivers if you didn't install them automatically. I then spent some time doing some quick tests. The resolution was excellent - very sharp and clear. The sound quality was good (I don't think I know what great sound is, but this camera seems to have very good sound). I've been using the camera for several weeks. That works great. The magnetic clip moves easily when I need to reposition the camera, and the camera tilts well and stays in place. I had no problems with the camera and am very glad I took this camera. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good solid camera that is easy to set up and secure with a protective case. and it is very easy to remove. The only flaws I had were minor and I would give this camera 4.8 stars out of 5.
