Why on earth did La Spaziale decide that when you turn the machine on it goes into idle mode by default? I'm not sure. It is this solution that prevents the simple use of a smart socket with La Spaziale. Of course, you can buy their timer for $200, but it's too expensive and ugly. Its function is simple. When the machine is switched on, it switches from standby to ON. This means that with a smart scheduled on/off switch, you can turn on the device before you wake up and give it time to warm up. Before that I left my Vivaldi II around the clock. Now I have it on from 6am to 3:30pm. I hope that this will save me a lot of electricity. Also, you don't need a smart switch. Anything that turns the power on and off will work. That includes those old-fashioned mechanical timers. Anyway, this is a very simple and smart solution to a problem that doesn't have to exist to start with. If you have La Spaz you should get this.
