This one is probably with me. I tried connecting the wires in a very tight spot (a car door jamb) and once connected, the wires moved every time the car door was opened and closed. It is very difficult to get the pliers and hands in the right position to pinch things. The fact is I have a car speaker that works when the door is open and not when it's closed. All this to say that I had practiced before on a couple of wires with plenty of space and everything seemed to work fine. So if you have easy access and nothing is going to move, it's probably a decent choice.
