This is one of those products that you never know will work. After all, you can't see germs, can you? However, I only use mechanical and bacterial filtration to balance my aquariums and use this product for all water changes and adjustments. Seems to be working fine. I can quickly cycle an aquarium and existing tanks will remain in balance with little or no ammonia, nitrite, or nitrate, according to my chemistry test suite. You couldn't wish for better!
