Obviously I wanted to extend the connection to the OBD reader so I can have it in a better place to work with. He did it and it worked. The connections are tight, so tight that it took some effort to undo them. I left the extension cord connected to the read port under the cover. The cable is thin enough, I think you can close the hood and put the reader in the car for active reading. I haven't done this yet, but it looks like it will work.
