Protection on the feet, caution in the ankle area.
My daughter is comfortable in it for a while but after about an hour or two the front edge of the opening starts to chafe her ankle and can cause irritation. The ground is thick and I know their feet are protected below even if they are on rocks. She also says the bum is comfortable on the inside too. As long as we don't leave it in our shoes for very long it's fine, but we tend to only use it for pool or fender use.
