This sounds like a great idea, but there are a few things that prevent it from getting a higher rating. The distance between the sockets is unfavorable. Only one has extra clearance that leaves no room for cumbersome convertible plugs for routers and streaming devices. This could be fixed if the outlets were rotated 90 degrees like the extension cord I replaced. My router, which is always on, has an inconvenient transformer and only uses one outlet to block 4. I then had to connect another power strip to auto-switching outlets to accommodate all of my devices. The automatic switching also seems a little strange. I chose my 600 watt receiver as the automatic switching device, which only consumes 0.2 watts when switched off. Considering the change in power usage, this seemed like a good candidate as it would clearly show if it was on or off, turning off the appropriate devices: TV, Roku, Fire TV, Chromecast. However, I often find that they don't turn off, so I wonder if I'm really saving something or maybe I have a defective product. Maybe this is a return to Revane.
