These are the only grips I use on my bike and my wife's bike. She only used them for years and I used clips because of the ease of installation and removal, but I've since learned how easy it is to install and remove them. To install - just take Windex, for example the instructions say. I put on a glove to get a better grip, then spray on the bars and the inside of the grip and just press down. If they're new, they'll fight you, but not too hard to get them to. Once worn, they stretch a little and are easier to put back on. The only real caveat here is don't attempt this just before driving - leave it at least overnight to allow the windshield to dry or your grips could loosen. Distance is a breeze. I hold a chopstick in my hand and put it between the crossbar and the handle, then I pour in some water, spin the chopstick in a circle, and then the handle immediately loosens. very popular with racers, and for good reason - they work.
