Review on πŸ“¦ JBtek Jet Black Case: Full Access to Ports for Raspberry Pi 3 Model B & Raspberry Pi 2 Model B by Megan Evans

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Beautiful and slim. A little cheap maybe, but it fits great, looks great and is overall quite nice.

As with some others, I had a bit of an issue with the screw holes themselves being slightly trimmed (not the screws). I find the plastic too soft. However, he holds up very well between all four. Somehow I only had three screws (but one of them must have fallen out when unpacking). I keep some screws in Spam cans and found one that fits very well so they're a pretty standard size. would say. I also want the back where the memory card goes in not to be totally loose. It should probably be either glued in or even in one piece as I just don't see any reason why it can't be. You'll need to somehow hold it in place by closing the case to make sure it's aligned properly. However, it fits my RPi2 perfectly. I like that it's small and thin. I wouldn't recommend it to overclockers as there's almost no airflow outside of those tiny holes on the back above the memory card slot, but with heatsinks it should hopefully be fine at stock speeds. (I'm trying to extend the life of my RPi2.) I found the RPi2 to fit in absolutely beautifully without wasting a lot of space. I suppose rounded bends aren't technically necessary, but they're easier to transport when moving, look a little better, and generally don't take up much space. Please note that if you need to connect something to the RPi/RPi2, there are no holes for it and you don't need to cut holes or remove the top at all. It's not necessarily the fuselage's fault as it's not designed for it. I use mine as a computer rather than a project device like Arduino/etc. For me and others like me this isn't an issue, but something to keep in mind when considering this option. It doesn't have any pre-cut areas to cut off or anything - a rotary tool (like Dremel, Black & Decker etc) with an AlO cutting blade would probably open it up in no time I said it's rather soft plastic.

Pros
  • The case is a two piece molded ABS plastic case that snaps around the Raspberry Pi Model B+.
