The first thing that struck me about this hardware is its quality. Good steel and parts fit together very smoothly. 1/4-20 threaded fasteners are very useful in many applications and I use them in many instances. They come in handy for crafting something that needs to be taken apart later, and for crafting something that needs to be assembled onto another item. Various sizes are available, but the most comfortable size is 1/4-20. For example, standard camera tripods use 1/4-20 mounts. The female part is on the camera and the male part is on a tripod. Screws and washers are needed to attach the camera to the object. One item not included in the kit that would be useful for this application is 1/4-20 nuts. T-nuts and threaded inserts allow you to mount your subject on a tripod. T-nuts for plywood or thin board and threaded inserts for thicker board. I am an artist and I make many tripod easels, palette trays and gift boxes. I'm constantly trying to find the perfect design. You will be useful for these projects. The screws supplied with this kit are hex drive and a hex wrench is included. Likewise, the threaded inserts are mounted with a supplied Allen key. This is a very useful and versatile set. You may need to add a few 1/4-20 nuts and maybe a few 1/4-20 screws of different lengths, but the kit contains most of what is needed for many projects. Good set for many projects.
