Well that was a revelation. First, terry cloth is very slippery. If you want to create a fall hazard, buy it. The color was not grey-violet, but dark blue. 3 other people also thought without my participation. The bottom, which should be non-slip, is not. I put it on a wood vinyl floor and it slid everywhere. It looks and feels cheap, and the label says it's highly flammable. Good. It's not that I smoke, but, God, don't drop a lit cigarette or anything on him. I'm grateful that Revain of course offers us free returns. I found another 3x5 foot rug for $4 more, it's a colossus and I hope I like the quality better. It's not purple, but purple is too difficult to combine with a color cast. I really needed something different in the shades of gray and this wasn't the same and didn't look at all like the photos in the listing. Light royal blue suggests purple. I suppose if you want a combustible piece of foam backed combustible terry cloth that slides all over your body then go for it. Maybe it works better over carpet. A big no way for yourself.
