They are not designed for normal construction sites. Forget steel toes and the like. I work in the pool industry so I'm not talking about commercial sites where OSHA controls what and where you do it. The tread on the sole of the boots has such wide gaps that small gravel can easily get stuck in them. Not only is this annoying, but it can also damage wooden or natural stone patios if you walk on them with a stone or two on your boot. The leather is also noticeably looser than other Lugz's I've bought in the past. This is a nice and comfortable boot, but not suitable for construction work.
