Very easy to replace the old screw in the lamp base with this lantern. There are two sets of holes that perfectly match the mounting screw holes in the cross bracket attached to the metal box ceiling light (US). It's very important, I know! It literally took me about 10 minutes to switch each device after a power outage. Directly on the mounting plate there is a switch on which LEDs are attached to change the color of the light. This means if you want to replace it after installation, just unscrew the cap and swap out. The cover is made of relatively thin plastic, but it is no different from other similar lights and makes the whole assembly very easy. I've attached photos of both lights in the two children's rooms and set them to 5000K. You'll see the brightness in the image where the light is on and the overall strength of the light in the other. Very stylish and modern, and we rejoice with the children!
