This is the first OXO product that I find completely unacceptable. OXO should take it off the market or adjust the temperature scale. Candy labeling is completely wrong. The marked temperature for caramel is much higher than the temperature used to make caramel. The scale isn't even close. I can't believe someone in OXO's QA department didn't spot these bugs before the product was released. Luckily I noticed the problem before I took it out of the box. I had to send it back to Revain for a full refund. I can't believe some people gave this item 5 stars, they clearly don't use it to make candy. All customers wishing to purchase this item should first compare it to the (correct) markings on a Wilton candy thermometer, or to their own candy recipes. Thank you for allowing me to contribute.
