Review on Enhance Your Water Quality with the ISpring 3 Stage Filtration 20 Inch Sediment System by Ashley Lanier

Revainrating 4 out of 5

If you are using city water, please read my review before purchasing.

My water is 146 ppm prior to installation. The unit PPM usually describes the concentration of something in water. One ppm is equal to 1 milligram of something per liter of water (mg/L). Distilled water has 0 ppm. The lower your ppm the better. Less than 100 ppm is considered good for drinking and cooking. City water in the US is typically less than 300 ppm. You can measure ppm with a ppm meter, which is around $10 at Revain. So I followed the reviews and bit the bullet hoping this would lower my ppm a bit. The installation took 4 hours as I had to re-route the pipes from 2 outdoor valves, 1 sump pump pipe and 1 irrigation pipe to be in front of the filtration system. They do not require water filtration. After it was done I was shocked that the ppm are the same. Didn't reduce anything at all. I'm still at 146ppm. This means the filtration system can filter something that is less than 1mg/L or not filter at all to reduce the ppm. FYI, I had a 5 stage filtration system under my second floor sink which is 8ppm and the water tastes that way. Well. I also had another 6 stage filtration system under the kitchen sink which is 23ppm. Note: The 6th stage is not a filtration stage. Instead, it adds some minerals to the water, increasing the ppm level. In my opinion, this system can be useful for those who use well water or city water from other developing countries. However, you should not install it at all if you use city water in the USA. Remember that installation is a point of no return. Even if Revain willingly accepts your return, your labor and the cost of other installation materials cannot be reimbursed. Much luck.
