I was very lucky that my child was not injured. The obvious cause of a belt breakage is the lack of a guard between the belt and the branch. The lack of belt protection led to wear of the belt through the bark and thus to total failure. Customer service responded to the one star review and kindly replaced the straps. Use a seat belt when using with non-small baby swings. Excellent customer service ranges from 1 star to 5 stars.
