Get what you pay for! And yes, I knew before purchasing that I would need to modify these mirrors. For the price I had no problems with it. Since these mirrors are cheap in price, remember that they are just that (cheap). It doesn't matter if you're just using these mirrors to comply with state laws and/or to actually see what's going on around you in your blind spot. For JK The mirrors are mounted vertically on top of the windshield frame. These mirrors whistle very loudly and unbearably. The wind blows the plastic that holds the jar. Wrap quality tape around the plastic edge and the whistle will stop. Lest the mirrors be blown up; Go to LOWES and buy a piece of 6"X6"X1/16" rubber packing list for $1.99 from the plumbing department. Make a washer on each side and put it under the aluminum grommet. It's one Guaranteed work! To adjust the mirrors in or out, you must loosen the three Phillips screws on the back of the mirror. Due to the design of these mirrors, you cannot tighten the bottom screw. Replace the Phillips screws with #4 - 7mm- Hex heads with outer sprocket washers Easy adjustment with a 7mm open end Once these changes are made adjustments can be made quickly and easily When removing the mirrors leave the aluminum bushings and rubber washers in place When removing the mirrors the next time you use it again, you won't need to make any adjustments unless you set it up for someone else driver one. It's better than paying hundreds of dollars for off-road mirrors. I've invested less than $30 and have driven it thousands of miles at high freeway speeds and low off-road speeds with no problems after making the above changes. Hope that helps.
