Very powerful and standalone OBD2 car scanner!

This review is about the DN606 OBD2 car scanner updated for 2002. My first impression was that auto scanners have come a long way since the last one I bought years ago! I really like the look and shape of this scanner and it's very easy to navigate using the left/right and up/down arrows. This is a very standalone device that allows you to inspect almost every aspect of your vehicle. , there is also a DTC library and a car shortcut library on board. I hooked it up to my 2010 Ford E450 and 2018 Ram pickup and was able to read the diagnostics from both very easily. Neither of them currently have any trouble codes so I just skimmed the menus to see everything they could diagnose. A really nice feature is the inspection/maintenance check of all systems for smoke, which is very close to my Ford E450 motorhome. and it's all gone Of course, this device can also erase codes. The only minor difficulty I encountered was the initial software update. This device came with a micro SD card installed, so I tried it first by connecting the device to my laptop. For some reason it just wouldn't connect, and I tend to blame my old Windows 10 laptop more than the scanner. I think if you have a more modern/more powerful laptop or desktop computer you probably won't have a problem. So I took out the microSD card and put it in the USB holder that came with it and was able to download their software, register the device and download updates straight to the card. An advice. Before beginning this process, connect the scanner to your computer or vehicle to turn it on and go to the Help Center to find and write down your serial number and registration code. That way, you'll have them handy to sign in when registering your device online. So overall I'm very happy with this device and glad to have it on hand. I also think it's great value for the current price and would make a great gift for any DIY enthusiast. โญโญโญโญโญ
