Review on DB Tech Bamboo Compact Foldable Slicer by Belkis Rivas

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Unusable due to fragile parts broken. Misleading dimensions

I would give zero but 1 is the lowest. The original review appears below when I first received it. If you are using this item about once a week now since February 2021 (now August 2021) it is useless as the first two spokes have broken off at the end meaning the sides will not stay upright. Also a few spokes/flanges now have shards. I plan to buy a slicer that is made of durable material that won't tear when slicing bread and fits the width of my standard pan. I've done my best to research the issue carefully, but I don't recall the advice on the WIDTH of the loaf's cut zone. So I inadvertently bought the size listed as 7-1/2 wide. Actual - see photos - opening width - cutting area - with raised sides and end is about 6-1/4". The width of my standard loaf pan at the TOP (inside) is about 4.-1/2". and the width of the loaf at the top is about the same. I managed to cut the bread by holding it by the edges. (Several people have rightly pointed out that you need a LONG bread knife that extends beyond both outside edges of the cutting frame) DOES ANYONE KNOW THE ACTUAL MEASURED INSIDE WIDTH of the so-called 6-1/2" CUTTING FRAME WIDTH? I guess I'm already too late to return or exchange this but I would really like to know the actual measurements of the size I probably should have bought for my baked loaves.Regular sourdough bread.(Picture for comparison) Thanks in advance for any wisdom you can (Ignore- I stay away from those made up and bordering on dangerous knives. I'll look elsewhere) Also note the very misleading photo on the box of a meat slicing/slicing knife, not a bread knife, with slices of bread folded in. The blade of this knife is too wide to fit between to fit the gaps and is not suitable for slicing bread.
