I bought these locking donation boxes because people were stealing the donations from the previous types we used. I put them out on the counter of a few local pet supply stores, locked them and left. When I returned a week later, the back panel that has the "hole” where the locking mechanism pushes through, was cracked where someone had forced the panel out by pushing on the plastic and cracked it removing it to steal the money. When the lock is in the locked position, it barely comes through the hole and the plastic is flexible enough it can be easily broken into by slightly bending the panel with a pen or other tool. Sad when people want to steal money from a nonprofit charity.
