Works well, stable, does not overheat

The hub finish is decent, the lower half is metal, the upper half is plastic. It's not the trendiest, but it gets the job done for a very reasonable price. My main purpose is to use an SD card reader and it works as intended. The hub works great and snaps securely into the port. I can move my laptop around without worrying about the hub detaching. I'm particularly surprised at how small and light the hub is. It also serves as a handy little heater. It's compact enough to fit in your pocket, not to mention it's easy to get lost in your laptop bag.
