Laser cut suitable for plywood

I used this with my K40 laser cutter. This works pretty well. most of time. To give some background, I've had really mixed results with birch plywood at Home Depot - one piece cut and the other not. I chose woodpeckers specifically for laser cutting because I wanted consistency. The appearance of the veneer per piece is fairly consistent and the dimensions are within 1/16 of an inch per piece. The problem I have (and the reason for the 4 stars) is certain stains on each piece just don't match. just as well cut as the others. For example, if I cut a straight line that spans 12 inches, chances are 90% of the line will be cut perfectly, and then there will be random spots where the laser won't get through. I think this is due to a mismatch in the density of the glue and/or pulp throughout the box. This is relatively easy to touch up later as the raw gauge is usually quite thin, but it's still a nuisance compared to cutting acrylic or real hardwood. My favorite wood to cut with is pure 1/8 inch thick basswood (not plywood) which cuts much faster and cleaner than this plywood. Also note that the pieces warp a bit so they don't lay flat on your bed. unless you pinch them or press down with steam to smooth them out. Note to other K40 users: I am using excessive settings to crop this footage and still get random uncropped areas as above. 75% performance at 400mm/min.
