If you have a K40 or other Chinese blue box laser cutter then you will love this plywood. The blade fits into the K40 and directly under the outlet without having to modify the laser cutter and cut the plywood. With CorelLaser you can engrave and cut at the same time. With this plywood and K40 bearing you engrave about 10mA at 9mm/s. For cutting run about 15-20mA at 3mm/s in two passes. Works great! ***If you are using an upgraded K40 with an 18mm lens and air assist your settings will be…

Pros
  • High marks for stability and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as others

I do not recommend laser cutting unless they fix the knot problem!

I have used this plywood for laser cutting several times. They have areas of laser resistance, usually fewer than other woods I've bought, but enough to cause problems. I think the problem lies in embedded nodes. These areas are very difficult to cut through with a laser. You can tell if the laser is hitting one of these spots if the smoke/deposit is black, not brown. I've increased the performance a lot compared to simply cutting through a tree, and it still doesn't cut through everything…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Laser cut suitable for plywood

I used this with my K40 laser cutter. This works pretty well. most of time. To give some background, I've had really mixed results with birch plywood at Home Depot - one piece cut and the other not. I chose woodpeckers specifically for laser cutting because I wanted consistency. The appearance of the veneer per piece is fairly consistent and the dimensions are within 1/16 of an inch per piece. The problem I have (and the reason for the 4 stars) is certain stains on each piece just don't match…

Pros
  • This is awesome
Cons
  • Some bugs
