Review on Dorman 77187 Interior Door Handle for 🚪 Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC Models - Gray Paint Match, Black by Darius Carraway

I have used Dorman products for decades, this door handle is orders of magnitude cheaper than an OEM part. abort. Dorman builds them because the originals have such a high failure rate that they can make money (a lot of money) by offering an alternative. The one I received wasn't very well assembled and the manual locking/unlocking lever was very stiff. I fixed this before installation by carefully removing the burrs with a file and sandpaper, but I didn't have to do that, hence the missing star. Most people will be able to replace this without too much hassle. Be careful: 1. The clips on the door panel will break if you haven't been in the door and have recently replaced them. Order some of these, and if they don't break, you'll be glad you've successfully protected this demon. 2. It is held in place with a pop rivet. You have to drill out the old one (trying to carve it with a chisel or grind it with a grinder is a bad plan) and then you have to put in the new one.3. Does not work with this grip. If you're particularly stubborn and determined, you can try Screw or Bold, but the results may not be worth the effort. I would try not to do that beforehand. It really shouldn't move even without the rivet once it's in place.
