Review on πŸ”— Hobart 770031 400-Amp Brass T-Style Ground Clamp by Tyler Born

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Bad soil causes all sorts of problems.

Seriously, does the ground clamp REALLY matter? How you make that first bead. Although a solid ground is important for any arc welding process "It's an order of magnitude more important for MIG welding and even more important for people new to MIG welding. But your wire gets stuck in a puddle and kicks off the gun? Just push the wire further in. A bad grounding can cause all sorts of problems imitate wire feed, voltage, engineering and prep issues that just don't exist want to tear your hair out if none of these changes help at all I guarantee some very good welders will be considered scrap were sold because they didn't work Well then all they needed was a better grounding clamp Admittedly this is essentially the same grounding clamp you get from Harbor Freight is old. A diamond in the rough, these are actually good clips, MUCH better than most welders. Click click delivery for a dollar more than HF charges, I can't start my truck and get it out of the area for a dollar. I love Revain Last tip. Cut the insulation off a few feet of the welding cable so you have bare copper. Fold it in half and twist loosely, then clamp this loop of bare welding cable between the ground clamp and the work piece. This creates hundreds or thousands of separate ground paths and does a much better job than just a ground clip. This can help make a mediocre ground clamp suitable for completing a project, make a good ground clamp work better in suboptimal situations (you still need to polish it up to shiny metal!), or even help isolate problems with an existing ground clamp. . If you're clamping shiny metal and adding twisted wire helps, you're going to have trouble with the ground clamp.
