Like this one, though. in Home Automation Devices

These devices are pretty easy to set up and work fine in my Smartthings environment. I am quite happy setting up custom device handlers and one of them is well written. I absolutely love the size. I use them for window sensors and you don't even notice them - every other sensor I've seen or tried is huge compared to these. The magnet is quite strong and I haven't had a single wrong reading since using it. Now for a possible problem. The manufacturer is pretty clear that you must use their hub and that they are not compatible with other hubs - that's a tip to consider before you buy. Xioami/Aqara devices use a partial implementation of the Zigbee protocol, and as long as you don't have other Zigbee devices that can act as repeaters on your network, they'll work just fine. I don't think they work brilliantly. The decision to be made is whether you can limit the Zigbee devices in your smart home to only battery devices (only battery devices cannot be repeaters). I have implemented Z-Wave and Wi-Fi devices, so this is not a problem for me. I don't use smart bulbs or other Zigbee devices (I've replaced all my switches instead), but with the way technology is changing it's hard to say if that will be the case in the long run. If you currently have or plan to have Zigbee devices, skip this. If you don't have them and aren't planning on getting one, these devices are cheap, powerful and possibly the nicest looking window sensors on the market and definitely worth considering.
