Well built with deep stainless steel reservoir and *thick* plastic lid. Quiet and very efficient when grinding into a fine powder. Disclaimer: I didn't buy this to grind coffee (so it's *not* covered by the coffee bean-only grind warranty). In fact, I bought it to break up calcium citrate tablets (big ones!) for my spouse who can't even swallow medium sized tablets or capsules. Thanks to the depth of the stainless steel container and the sturdy thick plastic lid, the chopper is perfect for this. As a general rule I would suggest crushing the pills a bit first (I use a mortar and pestle) but it effectively crushes the pills without breaking them first. However, I would have reservations about blunting the blades without preparatory work. This line of grinders was the only one I could find that worked well and looked durable (another brand I tried had a shallow bowl - non-removable - and a flimsy plastic lid that soon ripped and bits got into the mix ).
