Updated review: All previously purchased units died fairly quickly, and another I bought more recently was very dim compared to the older ones and used up batteries at almost twice the rate. It's cheap. but from now on I buy EL wire from more reputable sources.I got three of these and brought them out to the desert. All three worked perfectly though one began to have fading and flickering issues. after I abused it heavily for a night or two. totally not it's fault, it was built to glow and blink and not for high impacts or swinging around my head like a deranged orangutan.My one ding keeping it from 5 stars is that it doesn't have a chase sequence. It would be cheap and easy to have each strand light up in sequence instead of all at once and really it barely makes sense to have the strands separate without that feature.
