Spread out!. to the harvest!

This lens has a TON of reviews. so I'll stick with a few short lists/facts. This is all from my PERSONAL experience with my particular lens and is in no way an attempt to spit other people's catchphrases or "facts" out of their mouths. USM and Tamron 70-300mm at its best)* Permanent manual focus override* Ultra wide angle to near "normal” on ASP-C sensor (cropped)* Smooth operation, good fit and finish. Not a metal tube but still feels solid* Good contrast* Handles distortion VERY well at max zoom (although it's still there, as you'd expect from something that has REALLY wide field)* Holds its value even if it is used * Good minimum focusing distance. What's wrong?* Chromatic aberration shows up at wide open aperture and reaches 10mm. I've heard it's better than most other options in this space, but it's still more than I'm a fan. (This can usually be compensated for by zooming in to around 12mm or slightly more aperture.) * Not "weatherproof". I personally haven't had any problems, but when I'm on the hunt for an epic landscape shot I sometimes duck when the weather is particularly rainy because my 7D can handle it. My lens might be unlucky.* Expensive* Doesn't stick with me if I choose full frame (EF-S mount)* Without IS or F/2.8 it can be used, but it's not ideal for shooting in low light with subject movement or missing tripod. (Useful but not perfect) Final Word: If you're using an ASP-C sized sensor on your Canon Rebel, xxD or 7D and you're looking for 'true' ultra wide-angle shots, there aren't many options. to have. BUT. If you have to pull the trigger I would highly recommend this lens and would buy it again if I did. If you don't need a frame as wide as a large usable area, shoot in low light and try to save about $100. I would go with Tokina 11-16mm. I've heard it's supposed to be pretty good too. but I have no personal experience. You win something and you lose something anyway. but my last word. The Canon 10-22mm is hard to beat. Buy, surprise. I know it was me
