I recently did a shelving project where I ripped up the plywood. I had rough, very chipped edges. This device was easy to understand right out of the box. I plugged it in and it started straight away. I thought I would have to adjust the band but it worked. First, the width of the sanding belt(s) is not as wide as the roll on the sander that the belt is mounted on. This means that if you sand and look down while observing the edge, the underlying tape will be about half an inch inside the edge you are observing. It takes some getting used to because I always thought I was sanding an area that I really wasn't. But the device is loud and seems powerful. The tapes appear to be of decent quality. While I haven't had to change the belt yet, I'm excited to see how it will be. This device is probably comparable to something you could get at Harbor Freight for about the same price.
