You are really big. I use them for cover.
They are really big. I use them to shut off the water outlets when doing water changes and/or cleaning filters. Much of the slime that builds up in the hoses or impeller housing is released when I reset the filters and clogs my freshly cleaned tank. By placing them on the outlet nozzles, you catch any residue that may escape. The drawstrings on these are inadequate so I would hesitate to place filter material here for use in a canister filter without using a zip tie or other tensioning tool.
