Review on Continental Elite Poly-V/Serpentine Stretch Belt: Superior Performance and Durability by Gucci Breeze

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Cheaper option than auto parts stores if you can afford to wait.

First of all I would like to say whoever invented the tension belt should be brought behind the woodshed. The idler option is much better than the idler. It's not something you want to do on the side of the road (I used to keep a spare or used belt in the trunk of my car in case one broke). Rubber bands are used once, and if you need to remove them for any reason, you'll have to throw them away and get a new one. Absolutely stupid. Try a rental tool from an auto parts store. Removing the strap was easy. Putting on a new one was a different story. I spent a few hours putting on a belt with a tool. The final operation was to press the belt against the crankshaft pulley using two pairs of long, pointed vises, alternating the position of each vise as I rotated the pulley. (Remove the spark plugs to make it easier to turn the crankshaft pulley.) My car was a 2014 Ford Fiesta. You will need to remove the passenger wheel and fender liner to access the crankshaft pulley. The belt itself was of similar quality to the one I bought at the auto parts store, only slightly cheaper.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Everything is fine
