This tool is essential for leak detection. I have used this tool twice on two different jobs in the last two days. The first job found a leak in the hose connection and another found a leak in the accumulator after I filled the system with nitrogen, the second job found a leaking shaft seal on the compressor. My first job took more time preparing the system than finding and fixing leaks. On my second job, I heard a leak before I had a probe on the compressor. The sound is clear and it was great that the customer could also hear the sound of the leak.
