It's scary to see how much these filters filter out. We have tested our water in a variety of ways and always got the same results. One of the quick ways is water hardness. We're supposed to have some of the best water here on Long Island (obviously we spend a lot of taxes on it) but at 120-150ppm hardness I'd say we need to work a bit. When using a filter we are at 2ppm. I couldn't ask for more considering Poland Spring is 32ppm. Here are some photos before and after we changed the old filters in time. I wouldn't trust any other brand, they really did what they were supposed to do and I'm very happy with them. I plan to add an alkalinity supplement soon to help the acidity. Just before replacing them, we tested them at 4ppm (only 2ppm compared to new) once they were in stock. I'd say it's not too bad considering these filters are tested with most bottled water sold there, even after they're ready to be replaced. Also here: 120-150 ppm without filter, 2-4 ppm with filter. There really is water, and I'm sure there are many people who deal with much worse water than ours. Try APEC, you won't regret it.
