My child is very thin. He's 9 1/2 and needs size 8 pants in length but could be a size 6 in the waist so I'll have to buy pants with tabs. I bought him an eight and it fit like it was made for him. The jacket's sleeves were perfect, the pants' length was perfect, they had perfect pull tabs, and they weren't boxy, flattering his slim figure. This is a beautifully tailored suit with a beautiful colored lining. He wasn't wearing a white shirt, nor was he wearing any of the three accompanying ties (a red bow tie, a black long tie, and a cute extra white bow tie with a mustache). I would do it again in a heartbeat. However, it is not suitable for bigger children.
