ERROR FROM PARTS BOX

I bought with the intention of fitting it myself but circumstances arose and I took the 2002 Suburb into the garage to do it while the intake was off. The sensor came up, took the learning code, the recording returned. They called me and said my truck was ready. After paying $450 for the job, I started the car but it barely started and the check engine light was on. I returned to the shop, they ran a diagnosis showing a camshaft sensor malfunction. I had to pay the retail price for a new one ($100) and pay for the labor to remove and replace the faulty bearing. Luckily they were able to get it out without removing the air intake again, but I was still stuck with another $150 for parts and labor. To add insult to injury, I bought it quite a while ago while I was in the process of getting the job done, so I can't even return the bug out of the box. The mechanic told me they had occasional issues with it, but everything seemed fine when the code had to be relearned. You end up buying AC Delco for a few dollars more and saving yourself a headache.
