This Sony Xperia 5 Mark ii is the younger brother of the Xperia 1 Mark ii that was released earlier this year. The 5ii is slightly smaller than the 1ii (6.1in vs 6.5in) without the 1ii's 4K screen (although it makes up for that with a 120Hz refresh rate). The 5ii also lacks wireless charging. Here's what I'm thinking at the moment: PROS: 21:9 aspect ratio screen: This screen is great for watching videos. Even though the display isn't 4K like the Xperia 1ii, I think I actually like this screen a bit more due to the 120Hz refresh rate. Watching movies on these Xperia phones is way better than any other phone I've seen. It's the combination of cinematic aspect ratio and crisp screen that makes it so great.- Sony Alpha Camera Tech: Whether you're a photographer or just interested in camera tech, no other phone compares to these Xperia phones. Sony packs many of the best features from its Alpha mirrorless cameras into this phone. This phone takes amazing pictures. What really sets this phone apart is the integration of the Cinema Pro and Photo Pro apps. These apps offer MANY advanced photo features that let you control almost every setting that you could use with a high-end Sony Alpha camera. So many controls and amazing video effects, really impressive. If you're not a photo expert, you'll still appreciate the dedicated shutter button on the side of your phone, allowing you to take quick shots. 4000mAh battery. Battery life has been great, and I rarely find the battery draining even after watching a decent amount of content throughout the day. -Durability: With Gorilla Glass 6 on the front and back and IP68 water resistance, this phone feels pretty solid on . He survived several falls without any visible damage. headphone jack! : Wow, they're getting pretty hard to find now. CONS: - No wireless charging: If you're used to wireless charging with other phones, it can be a little annoying to reconnect. treat, but a little annoying. Mediocre front camera: It's strange considering how good the main cameras on this phone are, but the front camera for selfies isn't great. I usually just use the main rear camera with a physical shutter button on the side to take selfies. Again not that much. Cost: This phone is quite expensive for what it is. Sure, it's best for watching movies and taking photos, but you can certainly find a phone with similar hardware for less if you're not into those categories. GENERAL: This phone is great for watching movies. and if you know a lot about photography and want FULL control over the camera. These new Xperia phones could be the best phones for those two categories. If you don't care about those two things, then this phone isn't for you. Of course there are better options for everything else.
