Review on Converter Display DROK Voltage Regulator by Brian Malith

I have used the Drok 5005 variable step down converter about 5 times for short periods of time to reduce the output voltage of the 17V DC solar array to 9 volts to test some 1 watt incandescent bulbs. Yesterday, after about 5 minutes of use, the controller's display went blank forever and stopped working fully. While it worked, the voltage conversion range was wide and versatile. The ad was informative and readable. It took a little getting used to, but was pretty easy to use. However, the price-performance ratio was very poor since the device failed after a cumulative runtime of around 30 minutes. Operating MUCH below the advertised ratings of 50V, 5A, 250W. I would not recommend this unit for any purpose.
