I have been buying Fujitsu scanners for my office for many years and the Fi line has always performed as well as one could hope . If you get these and use them with Paperstream IP (Fujitsu VRS software), you rarely need to rescan. I like to scan at 400 dpi as I find that it produces good crisp documents, while 300 dpi only produces documents that are easy to read on screen but lack that clarity (I have hard drive space so extra space doesn't matter) . While 400 dpi doesn't allow for blazing fast scanning like 300 dpi, it's still fast enough for my needs and I don't see it as a bottleneck. If you scan a lot and need high speed, use 300 dpi as that will give you the speed you want. . This scanner also has built-in Wi-Fi and built-in Ethernet. We only use it via USB (since we use them for a computer). New functions and scan buttons (touch, customizable) allow more flexibility in the modern office. If you use it over USB like we did, not sure if it has any advantage compared to the fi-7160. Used in this way, the design changes actually seem like window dressing. You pay a bit more for the fi-7300NX, so it's worth being aware of the differences. We currently have a pair of fi-7300NX and fi-7160 and I haven't had a single issue with either so there's no real reason to buy this one unless using the new features.
