Review on Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice SUV 235/65 R18 110T winter by Agata Skibiska ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like the product, the quality did not disappoint.

In a nutshell, this is a tire for those who want to get a much wider range of impressions from driving in winter, from five plus to two minus :) If you want to experience complete delight from the silence in the cabin and driving along more or less cleaned streets, but at the same time you are ready to endure a complete fiasco when driving into an icy yard or serious snow porridge, then this is the rubber for you. I gave her a rating of 4, taking into account the pronounced positive qualities and the fact that it is not studded. But in the overall standings of spikes and non-studs for a serious winter, it can completely slide down to a C grade. I bought this rubber in early December on iX35, by analogy with my wife's car, which three years ago I took almost the same on Solaris (Goodyear Ultragrip Ice 2). And, if we compare, then on the Solaris the driving experience is generally more consistently positive - it rows well in the snow and seems to be more confident on ice. Perhaps the dimensions and weight of the car affect.

Pros
  • The main advantages: soft, low noise level and behavior on any asphalt - dry, wet, with a little snow and rolling, well, except for ice and heavy snow porridge, of course. The ride feels like good summer tires. Excellent hold in the turn, no drift, predictably controlled.
Cons
  • In more pronounced winter conditions, it already behaves clearly worse. Especially bad on ice and icy reel. ABS during braking and traction control during acceleration work much more often and not as efficiently. When driving in serious snowfalls, I also did not feel much enthusiasm. Rowing, of course, somehow, but without much enthusiasm.
