I read the reviews and they all mentioned it being noisy or very noisy, I'm so glad they were wrong. It's not loud. Loud but not scary. I let it run at the highest level for 8 hours to clear the room and was able to do everything in the noise area without any problems. Love it, really did a great job I didn't have to use my inhaler or nasal spray. I could breathe I got the big one after using the small one in my bedroom. I like both and am very impressed with their performance. This is a great unit and does a great job. The filters last a long time and the small one is easy to put in, the rest is in the package that comes together. I've heard some bad news about filter builds, but that's not a problem. I'm glad I got it and chose the good reviews. If you need clean air and can handle some noise from the device, this is a great option. I'd say it sounds like a fan running, but it's not a very bad noise. i love it very much
