Not waterproof: Binoculars

I bought these binoculars specifically because they need to be waterproof. I'm replacing a pair that got wet and worn out during a canoe trip at the BWCA. And without sending them on a dangerous journey. I never considered having working binoculars until I had them when I needed them for navigation. So I read the reviews and decided to give this one a try. They're a good size, I'm no binoculars specialist but I like the way they feel and work. I've been reading people getting wet after a month of free returns from Revain and thought let's see if these things are waterproof now before I need them to navigate the desert on a rainy day after capsizing my canoe have. I soaked them in a bucket of water for a minute or two. Well when I took them off they were fine for a few days. After about a week, the right lenses were completely fogged up. The main thing I bought these things is that they are meant to be waterproof, not waterproof. I returned them and bought Bushnell H2O Waterproof. I just got them and did a dunk test too. Although everything is clear, they lie around like that for a month or they will be returned and I will try again. Sorry but waterproof means it's waterproof. I have a waterproof camera that was in the same boat with a waterproof strap. I think it's easy to put a waterproof sticker on something, but harder to waterproof it.
