This item was purchased primarily as a travel accessory to be used with a full sized pair of binoculars, but not instead. Something for those "quick peeks" where it wouldn't be practical or necessary to pull out a bulky full-size pair of binoculars. In this regard, the Roxant monocular does an excellent job. Extremely small and very light, it fits perfectly in a shirt or cargo pocket. But apart from everything else, what sets this monocular apart from similar products is the image quality. I was pleasantly surprised by the sharpness of the images. To be honest before starting this article I wasn't expecting much as I have used similar products in the past. I was expecting the usual foggy, fuzzy cloudy images that would give a fleeting "furry" image quality. Not this one. Images are sharp and focusing was easy. However, it is recommended to use the monocular with both hands to achieve stable vision. It's so bright that the image tends to move around a lot. But with a little practice, this inevitable shortcoming can certainly be overcome. If there is something the manufacturer should do. it would add more color options. Silver and black are fine, but more street colors like olive green or bright orange will likely appeal to more users who want it to match their current outfit. In summary, for less than $20 this is excellent value for money.
