Review on 🔌 Fluke AC220 SureGrip Alligator Clips: Secure Electrical Connections with Ease by Jake Mccallum

I used to review the Fluke AC285 alligator clips. These are her younger brothers. Like the 285, the AC220 requires a double banana jack test lead to function. I use Fluke TL224 silicon wires. However, after searching, I found two other manufacturers that make this type of leash. However, I prefer Fluke silicone rubber wires. Once connected, these test leads (which are larger than I expected, see photo on product page) are Fluke's 'premium' answer to the more traditional 'pointy' alligator clips. The jaws are insulated externally when open and the operator's fingers are removed almost two inches from them. They are excellent for clamping bare wire (up to #4), small to medium sized spade lugs (like standard bus bars and CB spade lugs) or screws on switches and outlets. Jaws open wide enough to grip 3/8" diameter surfaces and can handle 1/2" diameter surfaces. Desktop Technology and Hobbies I'm sure you can think of a few more uses. Unlike "point" clamps, these clamps are safe for test leads and I feel safe using them for hands-free diagnostics even if they collide. Some Fluke products make me doubt their value and added cost, but not this one. They're a must-have for anyone who needs true hands-free measurements!
